How time flies, aye? Things have been quite hectic around here since I was headhunted to work for a company which is attempting to launch Finland’s first 3D TV channel. More on that later.
As for “hobbies”, I’m currently hard at work testing the latest generation of home theater 3D video projectors. Related to that, I will soon (ahem) post a review of a brand new piece of cool technology which will certainly be making waves in home theaters all around the world.
There’s a slew of new TV shows out in the good ol’ US of A, and they’re not all bad. They’re actually not all that new anymore, either. Being incredibly busy for the past several weeks, it’s only now that I’ve found the time (and the proper gear) to view some of these shows. The first two I took a look at turned out pretty damn good. Finished viewing the first episode of Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles some moments ago. All in all, I was quite positively surprised – especially as I had been sort of afraid they would ruin the franchise completely and turn it into something ridiculous. Autumn is coming and a new season of fantabulous TV entertainment is about to start in the USA. This previous weekend I woke up to realize that the internet is filled to brimming with so-called “preairs”. PAN Vision on julkaissut Discovery-kanavan tuottaman dokumenttisarjan Battlefield upeana Collector’s Editionina. Kookkaaseen ja painavaan metallilaatikkoon pakattu sarja on jaettu kolmeen pakettiin, joissa kussakin on kuusi DVD:tä. Olen silloin tällöin päässyt ihastelemaan sarjaa Discoveryllä ja laatikon yllättävä ilmaantuminen oli tervetullut piriste. Napsin laatikosta ja sen sisuksista jokusen kuvan, olkaa hyvä.
Postipaketissa odotti iloinen yllätys: The X-Files -tv-sarjan ensimmäinen tuotantokausi DVD:llä suomitekstein. Nappasin pikapikaa (krr-hmm, vähän liiankin pikaisesti) jokusen kuvan paketista ja tuikkasin ne galleriaan. Mikäli jotakuta kiinnostaa, jaksojen suomennos näyttäisi olevan Visiontextin käsialaa.

Katselin Heroesin pilotin hyvissä ajoin ennen sarjan virallista jenkkilän ensi-iltaa. Tim Kringin luoma sarja käsittelee muutamaa tuikitavallista ihmistä, jotka huomaavat yllättäen omaavansa yliluonnollisia kykyjä. View full article »
Aaron Sorkinin (West Wing) luoma Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip aloitti jenkeissä muutama viikko sitten. Sarja käsittelee hyvin Saturday Night Live -maisen sketsiviihdesarjan tuotantoa. Pilottijakso alkaa räväkästi Sorkinin ja Thomas Schlammen (Sorkinin kollega West Wingistä) julistuksella, jonka esittää S60-sarjan tuottaja Wes Mendell (Judd Hirsch). View full article »
